Roof Inspections in Stroud
We get up on your roof, go into your attic and check the gutters. Then we show you photos and tell you straight what is fine, what needs fixing and what can wait. No pressure to buy anything.

When an Inspection Makes Sense
We check your roof so you know its real condition before a hidden problem shows up as a drip in the hallway. That means the shingles, the flashing, the vents and whatever decking we can see from the attic. You get the facts and nothing pushed on you.
Good times to call: after hail, before a home sale or purchase, as your roof gets older, or when the bedrooms upstairs stay hot and the electric bill keeps going up. People do not always connect that last one to the roof. Clogged vents and worn shingles let heat build up in the attic, and the air conditioner runs harder all summer to make up for it.
Our crew has over 20 years of combined roofing experience. We know what spring hail and long Stroud summers do to a roof, and where that damage tends to hide.

Everything We Look At
- 01
The shingle surface
We hunt for shingles that are gone, split or curled up at the edges, plus hail dents and bald patches. Bald patches matter because the granules are what keep the sun from baking the asphalt.
- 02
Flashing around chimneys and pipes
Leaks usually begin where something pokes through the roof or meets a wall, not out in the open field of shingles. We check the metal and the sealant at every chimney, vent pipe and skylight.
- 03
Attic airflow and insulation
Inside, we look at intake and exhaust vents, check for light coming through, water marks and damp boards, and see if the insulation is flattened or wet. A stuffy attic ages shingles from underneath and makes your home cost more to cool.
- 04
Roof deck and framing
Spongy spots, a wavy roofline and dark patches on the deck boards all tell us water has been sneaking in for some time.
- 05
Gutters and downspouts
We make sure the gutters are fastened, pitched toward the downspouts and not clogged, and that water exits away from the foundation. Overflow at the roof edge rots fascia and decking.
- 06
Photos and a written rundown
We hand you pictures of what we saw and a short report split into three groups: fix soon, watch it and fine as is.

Hail or high wind just passed through
Hail bruises are hard to spot from the yard. Having the roof checked after a storm catches small damage before it becomes a leak.
Water marks inside
Brown rings on the ceiling or dark lines on the rafters mean water is finding a way in. Where it shows is often a few feet from where it enters.
Upstairs heat and rising electric bills
An upstairs that feels like an attic and bills that keep climbing can point to trapped heat overhead. Clogged vents and aging shingles are frequent culprits.
Grit collecting at the downspouts
Sandy buildup where the downspouts empty means the shingles are losing their coating.
A roof 15 years old or older
Age shows first along the edges and around the flashing. Checking every year or two lets you plan the work on your schedule.
A home sale on the calendar
Buyers learn what they are taking on, and sellers get a chance to fix things before they turn into a sticking point at closing.
From Your Call to the Walkthrough
- 1
Phone call and scheduling
Tell us about your roof and anything odd you have spotted, and we will pick a day and time that suits you. You do not have to climb up with us. We just like to chat with you at the start and again at the end.
- 2
On the roof
When the roof is safe to stand on, we work across it one section at a time and photograph as we go. If it is too steep or the shingles are brittle, we check it from ladders and along the edges.
- 3
Up in the attic
Give us about 15 minutes in the attic. That is where leaks, poor airflow and insulation trouble show up that you would never spot from outside.
- 4
Going over the results
We sit with you and flip through the photos together. Anything that needs work gets a plain explanation and your options. If the roof is in good shape, that is exactly what we say.
What Affects the Cost of an Inspection
An inspection is a set job, but a few things change how long it takes. We will tell you the price on the phone before we come out, so there are no surprises.
- Roof size and shape
- A simple roof on a one-story ranch takes less time than a big roof with lots of valleys, dormers and hips.
- Pitch and access
- Steep roofs take more care and sometimes more equipment. A tight or hard-to-reach attic adds time as well.
- Purpose of the inspection
- A routine check is quicker than a detailed report for a home sale or a close look after a storm.
- Extras like skylights and chimneys
- Each chimney, skylight or roof-mounted unit is one more spot to check closely.
Common Questions About Inspections
How much of my day will this take?
Plan on roughly an hour for the roof and attic. Big or steep roofs can run a little longer. After that we spend some time going through the photos with you, and we never hurry the attic check.
Is this just a way to sell me a roof?
No. Plenty of the roofs we look at need nothing at all, and many others need only a small fix. If roof replacement really is the right answer, we show you the photos that back it up and you decide.
Could an inspection lower my cooling costs?
It can tell you why the bills are high. Clogged soffit vents, too few exhaust vents or soaked insulation all keep heat trapped in the attic. Fix those and your air conditioner has less work to do. We will not quote you a savings figure, but we will show you exactly what we found.
How often does a roof need checking?
A look every year or two is a good rule, plus one after any big hail or wind storm. Once a roof gets older, a yearly check helps you budget for repairs or a new roof instead of being surprised.
What happens if you find a problem?
We walk you through it and give you a quote, either by phone or in person. You can have us do the roof repair or storm damage repair, or take as long as you need to think it over. Repair work we do comes with our lifetime workmanship warranty.
Are the gutters part of the inspection?
They are. We check every run and downspout. If they need cleaning, refastening or replacing, we let you know, and our gutters service can handle it.
